Depending on the day, Judy may mix watercolor pigment, paper, and found objects to express political/historical events or the intricacies of natural forms, or she may let pure watercolor express what is in her heart, mind and eye. The cultural climate, the Sierras, the Pacific, the coastal mountains, Hawaii, and the wonderful possibilities of watercolor and paper all inspire her.

While earning her BA (Psych) and MA in Marriage and Family Therapy, Judy pursued college art classes and she credits the Santa Clara Watercolor Society, the Yosemite Conservancy, and Bay Area Creatives (a Peninsula based art group) for pointing her to additional art instructors who have been instrumental in deepening her artistic skill level. In addition, Judy’s years of being a psychotherapist, a volunteer in Yosemite and a watercolor and mixed media/collage adult education art instructor have all influenced her work.

Judy’s artwork has been shown in group exhibitions throughout the Bay Area and she recently held a solo exhibition in Felton, CA. Judy is excited to have the Santa Cruz Mountains and surrounding coastal communities as her art “neighborhood” where she can be inspired by other artists and share her love of creating art as well!
