Art After School
The popular SCMAC AAS program was the subject of a front page article “After School Arts Enrich Students” in the Press-Banner newspaper dated February 5, 2015. Interviewing SLVMS Principal Shannon Calden, Press-Banner reporter Patricia Sousa wrote:
The After School Art program has been welcomed by schools with open arms, allowing students to participate in all aspects of art. “Parents have been excited about the opportunity for their kids to be involved in art,” said SLVMS School Principal Shannon Calden.
When: Wednesdays 1:25 – 3:10 pm. (Note: Bookeo time listing limitations result in classes incorrectly starting at 1:30 pm, but all SLVE AAS classes start immediately after school at 1:25 pm).
Who: For students age 7 thru grade 5. Class size limited to fifteen students on a first come first served basis.
Where: Parents, please pick-up your children at 3:10 pm from Room 20 or the Library (check your class selection below for your student’s room location).
How: Please book classes and pay online. Please provide your child with a healthy snack.
Cost: $35 per 4-week session. Register early, classes fill quickly! Sliding scale fee available to families in need. Please call 336-3513.

NOTE/San Lorenzo Valley Elementary: In order to meet the high number of students on the AAS wait list and the enthusiastic requests from parents and students, we have added a second AAS class each quarter at San Lorenzo Valley Elementary. Thank you to SLVE, our awesome Youth Education Director, Brian Bowes, and the MAC teachers who stepped up at the last minute to make it happen!

Thanks to a grant from the Community Foundation Santa Cruz County and donations from people just like you, four week art classes are provided for a small stipend to elementary and middle school students.
