Donations from the community are a tremendous help in bringing art to young artists, as well as artists that are in financial hardship.
We want to spotlight a few specific donors and thank all the rest through our annual honor roll of contributors.
Since 2004, SCMAC’s Youth Art Scholarship Program has participated in Community Day at New Leaf / Wild Roots Markets in Felton & Boulder Creek, where the markets donate a percentage of the day’s sales to our program. Thank you to Wild Roots and to the community for making their dollar count!
The Thomas Gallery
On the last day in 2003, Barbara and Jim Thomas finalized a huge generous donation to our community: they gift deeded their commercial property in downtown Ben Lomond to the Santa Cruz Mountains Art Center. In commemoration of this generous life gift that continues to give to the community, the gallery now bears their name.
Barbara Thomas is a weaver, acrylic painter, writer, and past participant in the life drawing sessions at the Art Center. Read more about her role in the origins of the Art Center here.
